New flowers. All of the warm weather is encouraging me to plant and plant.

I remember my grandmother planting petunias in her window boxes by the breezeway.
Well, more to the point, I remember our dead-heading them. At first, I thought, ewwww! Should I really write that? Dead-heading. What a phrase and what connotations! However, after giving it thought .... Taking the dead flowers leads to more flowers; the plant would cease to bloom without dead-heading. I remember my grandmother and mother telling me that. A lesson on life and petunias.

They're predicting frost for the next three nights. Sigh....
A lot of boxes and pots to bring in for tonight. My mother said the neighborhood cats and skunks would get into my herbs. Lovely! Essence of! So, ... they're on the railing now. Will sample some basil tonight!
